Bangladesh Ganamukti Party (BGP) President MA Alim Sarkar and General Secretary Amulya Kumar Badyi said in a statement, Bangladesh Ganamukti Party observes with deep concern and anger that the government has again increased the price of octane, kerosene and petrol by Tk 5 per litre. We strongly protest against the recent hike in fuel prices. The rise in fuel prices does not only affect the transport sector, but it has a direct impact on the prices of daily necessities, agricultural production, trade and the daily life of the common people. MA Alim Sarkar and Amulya Kumar Vaidya also said that in the current economic situation, the common man is already under the pressure of high inflation and rising cost of living. Meanwhile, the increase in the price of fuel oil will intensify the suffering of the people. Due to increase in transportation costs, the cost of transporting goods will increase, which will increase the price of various daily necessities including food products in the market. As a result of this price increase, thousands of crores of rupees will be cut from the pockets of farmers-labourers and common people. The life of common people will become miserable. Low and middle income people, farmers, laborers and small traders will be the worst affected.

The increase in the price of kerosene is of particular concern to the rural and low-income communities. Many families still depend on kerosene for lighting and other essentials. As a result, their cost of living will increase further.
We call upon the government to withdraw the increased price of octane, kerosene and petrol keeping in mind the general public and the overall economic stability of the country. At the same time effective steps should be taken to alleviate the suffering of the people and transparency and accountability should be ensured in the energy sector.
Protecting the legitimate interests of the common people and reducing their suffering is one of the responsibilities of the state. So farmers-We strongly demand to take necessary and effective steps considering the quality of life of workers and hardworking people.
