Physical Relations Under Pretext of Marriage: Complaint Filed at Netrokona Police Station
A victim has filed a formal complaint at the Netrokona Model Police Station, alleging sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage. The accused, identified as Md. Nurul Amin, is a resident of the same area.
According to the complaint, the victim and the accused were married approximately 13 years ago according to Islamic Sharia law, and they have two children together. Following domestic discord, the couple legally divorced through the court in late 2024. After the divorce, Nurul Amin allegedly began visiting the victim’s home frequently, promising to remarry and reconcile. Under these pretenses, he continued to engage in physical relations with her.
The victim stated that on the night of April 24, 2026, at approximately 10:30 PM, the accused visited her home and engaged in physical relations again. When the victim requested that he formalize their relationship through marriage, Nurul Amin allegedly refused, behaved abusively, and left the premises. The complaint further notes that local witnesses are aware of the ongoing interactions between the two. After seeking advice from her family, the victim has approached the Netrokona Model Police Station seeking legal remedy.
When contacted regarding the matter, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Netrokona Model Police Station stated that the complaint has been received and the necessary legal procedures are currently underway.
