The court has given precautionary instructions regarding the publication of the statements of the accused in police custody in the case filed in connection with the rape and murder of eight-year-old child Ramisa Akhter in Pallavi of the capital.
Advocate Azizur Rahman Dulu, the state's special public prosecutor (PP) in the court, said that according to the law, no accused has the right to speak while in police custody except in front of a judge. The High Court has clear instructions in this regard. He appealed to the court to order necessary measures to stop the statements of the accused in police custody and to stop their publication in the media to avoid any situation that could affect the judicial process.After hearing the application, the court allowed it and directed the authorities concerned to take necessary action.
