American child victim of kidnapping attempt rescued in Teknaf, 3 gang members arrested
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-15) has rescued a 4-year-old US citizen child who was the victim of an attempted abduction in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf. 3 active members of the kidnap gang have been arrested in this incident.
In a press release of RAB-15, it was informed that on June 2, RAB members regularly patrolling Shapla Chatwar area of Teknaf Model Police Station received information that an attempt was being made to abduct a child in New Pallan Para area. A RAB raid team quickly reached the spot after receiving the information.
At that time, the local mob was arresting the three people involved in the kidnapping attempt and beating them up. RAB members rescued them from the mob and took them into custody and provided first aid to the injured at Teknaf Upazila Health Complex.
The arrested are Shahab Uddin (28), Kefayet Ullah (24) and Abdur Rajab Mia (35). They are all residents of Teknaf Upazila.
According to RAB quoting the locals, on June 2 at approximately 12:10 PM, the arrested persons tried to abduct a 4-year-old US citizen child alone from in front of a house in West Godarbil area of Teknaf Sadar Union. At this time, it was possible to rescue the child due to the efforts of the locals.
The process of handing over the rescued child to the family is underway. Those arrested in this incident have been handed over to the concerned police station for taking necessary legal action against them.
