Narsingdi Madhavadi accused of raping and videotaping a girl, one arrested
Two youths named Musharraf and Mahbub have been accused of forcibly abducting and raping a teenage girl on her way back from work in Madhavadi, Narsingdi, and blackmailing her after recording a video. The victim and his family alleged that the incident took place at the house of accused Mahbub in Poulanpur village of Meherpara Union on Wednesday (03 June) at around 10:30 pm.
The accused are Mosharraf Hossain (30), son of deceased Motaleb member, and Mahbub, son of Abdul Qadir, of Paulanpur village in Meherpara area. In the meantime, Mahbub has been arrested, said the officer-in-charge (OC) of Madhavadi police station Md. Kamal Hossain.
The girl, a textile worker victim, complained that two young men named Musharraf and Mahbub of Poulanpur village took her forcibly to Mahbub's house in Poulanpur and sexually assaulted her in a room. He was later videotaped and threatened that the video would be shared on social media if he told anyone about it. At that time, the youth extorted 2000 rupees from the victim's family by showing fear of the video going viral.
According to the victim's family, the money was demanded after the incident on the threat of spreading the video. Later they were forced to rescue the girl by paying two thousand rupees and reported the matter to Madhavadi police station at night.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhavadi Police Station Md. Kamal Hossain said,In this incident, the girl's father filed a complaint with the Madhavadi police station mentioning the names of Mosharraf and Mahbub of Poulanpur village. After receiving the complaint, the police verified the truth of the incident and conducted a raid in the morning and arrested one of the accused named Mahbub. Efforts are on to arrest the other accused.
