Distribution of tree saplings in Matiranga on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026 celebration

On the occasion of 5 June 2026, World Environment Day, CoRLIA Project, Khagrachari Hill District Parishad (KHDC) organized a discussion meeting and tree sapling distribution program in Matiranga Upazila. The program is organized by Ecosystems Restoration and Resilient Development in Chittagong Hill Tracts (ERRD-CHT), CoRLIA component in collaboration with UNDP.

*Md Shahab Uddin*, Upazila Agriculture Officer, Matiranga was present as the chief guest in the event. *Md Abdullah Al Masum*, Horticulturist, Matiranga and *Md Korban Ali*, Project Coordinator, Matiranga Upazila were present as special guests.

On this occasion, 1 neem, 1 lemon and 1 haritaki saplings were distributed to 56 women beneficiaries of CoRLIA project to encourage environment conservation and greening activities.

Speakers protect the balance of the environment,He highlighted the importance of increasing tree plantation to combat the effects of climate change and ensure sustainable development. They urged everyone to play a conscious and responsible role in protecting the environment from their respective positions.
