The construction work of the two lines of Patal and Udal Metrorail has become uncertain due to the incompetent Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited Farooq Ahmed and administrative complications. Nurul Alam Azad, a senior journalist of Ibn News from Dhaka, said.

The construction of two lines of the underground and overhead metro rail has become uncertain due to the incompetent Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka MassTransit Company Limited, Faruk Ahmed, and administrative complications.
The Japanese Embassy has urged the government to start the construction of Metrorail-1 and Metrorail-5 (Northern Line) projects quickly. The call was made in a separate letter signed by Japanese Ambassador Saida Shinichi to several other departments, including the Principal Secretary to the Chief Advisor, Finance Advisor Dr.Saleh Uddin Ahmed and Road Transport and Bridge Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan. The Japanese Embassy has written a letter to the Secretary of the Economic Relations Division and the Managing Director of the project implementing agency Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited in this regard. Since national interest is involved in the matter, DMTCL should relieve the incompetent MD Faruk Ahmed and allow an experienced government official who is knowledgeable about the structure of the Bangladesh state and government laws and regulations to run theinstitution smoothly.
