Rape Prevention Forum Comilla district organized Eid reunion, discussion and exchange meeting

With the aim of increasing social awareness, preventing violence against women and children and creating a safe society, rape prevention platform Comilla district has organized Eid reunion, discussion and exchange meeting. Leaders, members, social workers and conscious citizens of various levels of the organization participated in the event organized keeping in mind the message of joy and harmony of Eid.

Rape Prevention Forum Comilla District Convener Atiqur Rahman, Senior Joint Convener Rakibul Bhuiyan, Member Secretary Tofazzal Hossain Nazmul, Spokesperson Asma Akhter, Joint Secretary Faisal Ahmed, Treasurer Maulana Mahmudul Hasan, Chief Organizer Saidur Rahman Rifat, Central Committee Media Secretary Abdur Rahim Arian, Central Committee Publicity Secretary Rafi Majumdar, Executive Members were present on the occasion. At the beginning of the ceremony mutual greetings were exchanged highlighting the significance of the holy Eid-ul-Azha. In the discussion held later, the speakers discussed in detail the various aspects of rape, abuse of women and children, child marriage, drug addiction and social degradation.

Speakers said heinous crimes like rape and violence against women are a deep crisis for the society. Prevention of these crimes requires not only law enforcement, but also collective efforts of families, educational institutions, religious institutions, social organizations and common people. Crime tendency can be reduced to a great extent only if moral values, humanity and mutual respect are awakened in the society.

Speakers in the meeting also said that Rape Prevention Forum has been working for a long time to create social movement and public awareness against women and children abuse. Comilla District Branch is playing an important role in shaping public opinion through human chain, protest rally, awareness campaign, discussion meeting and social activities at various times.

At this time, to speed up the organizational activities of the organization, inclusion of new members,Emphasis is placed on expanding activities at the district and upazila levels and involving the youth in social movements.
