The death of BNP chairperson and three-time former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia has cast a shadow of mourning across the country. He breathed his last on Tuesday (December 30) at 6 am while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).
After receiving the news of the mother’s death, the leaders and activists of BNP and other organizations started gathering in front of Evercare Hospital. A heartbreaking atmosphere was created in the hospital premises. Many were seen breaking down in tears, some fell to the ground and wailed.
Earlier on Monday (December 29) night, when Begum Khaleda Zia’s condition worsened, Acting Chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman rushed to the hospital. Doctors declared Khaleda Zia dead in her presence.
Tariq Rahman left Evercare Hospital after seeing his mother’s body at 10:08 am on Tuesday. At this time, he is seen deeply depressed and frustrated. He left the hospital area silently sitting in the front seat of the car.
It has been seen on the ground since morning that the crowd of party leaders and activists is increasing in front of the main gate of Evercare Hospital. An emotional situation has been created with the cries and cries of the bereaved activists. The leaders and activists of the party cannot accept the death of Begum Khaleda Zia in any way.
