Father killed by intoxicated son in Singra, wife and children arrested

In a shocking incident in Singra Upazila of Natore, a fishmonger named Rafiqul Islam alias Rubel (45) was killed by slitting his throat. The wife and son of the deceased have been arrested by the DB police on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

Rubel’s bloody body was recovered from his home in Bishnupur area of ​​the upazila on Monday (May 4) morning. According to locals, neighbors rushed to the house on hearing the sound of crying in the morning and found her body lying inside the house. After receiving the information, Singra Thana police went to the spot and recovered the body.

The body has been sent to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Immediately after the incident, the police arrested the deceased’s wife Shiuli Begum and son Royal. At that time, the sharp blade used in the murder and blood stained clothes were recovered from a pond near the house.

According to locals, the deceased’s son was addicted to drugs for a long time. It is believed that the murder may have happened due to a family dispute and drug related dispute.
