49 BGB seized illegal smuggled goods along with 1 accused in a raid at Jessore border.

On Wednesday (May 27), Jessore Battalion (49 BGB) conducted anti-smuggling operations in the border areas of Benapole BOP and Benapole ICP throughout the day.
‎
In the raid, Indians seized 85 sarees, 148 bottles of HERSHEY’S chocolate syrup, 1742 different types of chocolates, 93 kg of fuska, 122 food items and 1561 different types of cosmetics items.

According to BGB, the value of the seized goods is 15,95,390/- (fifteen lakhs ninety five thousand three hundred and ninety) rupees. And the detained accused Shaon Ahmed Shanto, son of Mahidul Islam of Gatipara village of Benapole Port police station.

In this regard, Jessore Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Golam Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, PSC said,For a long time, intelligence activities and raids are continuing in the border area according to the special plan of BGB to arrest the smuggling gangs including narcotics and smuggled goods. In continuation of this, Jessore Battalion is able to seize narcotics and various types of smuggled goods by conducting regular raids in the border areas under its responsibility. Such offensive activities of BGB will always continue on the border.
