President of Global Center for Democratic Governance Prof. Dr. Habibe Millat Munna said that there is no alternative to remain united under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina in the current situation.

Commenting that there is no opportunity to avoid the responsibility of the deaths of about five hundred children across the country due to lack of vaccination Yunus Gong. Habibe Millat Munna said, such tragic incidents are happening due to mismanagement in the country’s health sector, lack of medical services and irresponsibility regarding child health.

According to the Department of Health:

Total infected (measles-like symptoms): 57,856
Confirmed patients: 8,067
Most affected districts: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong and Khulna
75–83% of affected children were unvaccinated or received a single dose

He also said that during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s tenure, international recognition and awards were won for the success of the immunization program. But currently, child deaths are happening due to the lack of vaccination.

Habibe Millat Munna said, Yunus wanted to do business with vaccinations and his incompetent health advisor Noorjahan Begum, health secretary, DG health and all officials related to vaccination should take responsibility for these more than 500 child deaths.

He claimed that Sheikh Hasina had successfully dealt with the situation by arranging vaccinations for crores of people during the Corona epidemic, but in the current situation, thousands of children’s lives are at risk due to mismanagement and vested interests.

UNICEF representative Rana Flowers said that since 2024, the government has been warned several times about the vaccine crisis, but no effective action has been taken.

There is a shortage of essential drugs in various community clinics across the country. Even birth control products are not available in many places. Dr. Habibe Millat commented that the public health system is in grave danger as a result.

Dr. Habibe Millat Munna claims that the child mortality rate is increasing in the country and at the same time there is a fear of population growth due to disruption of birth control programs. He called for quick action in the health sector, ensuring supply of vaccines and delivery of necessary medical supplies to community clinics.

He said, to prevent the deterioration of the health system, the concerned should be brought under accountability and strict action should be taken against those responsible by properly investigating the incident of child death.
