The 45th martyrdom anniversary of Martyr President Ziaur Rahman is celebrated in Dimla

On the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of President Ziaur Rahman, the herald of great freedom, the leader of the Z Force of the Liberation War, Bir Uttam, the advocate of multi-party democracy and the visionary of modern Bangladesh, a discussion meeting and prayer meeting was held at Dimla, Nilphamari.

On Saturday (May 30) afternoon, the program was organized at the office of Dimla Upazila BNP and its organization. A large number of leaders and activists of upazila and union level BNP, Jubo Dal, Swachhasevak Dal, Chhatra Dal and various organizations and allied organizations participated in it.

Gholam Rabbani Pradhan, a member of the district convening committee, spoke as the main speaker in the discussion meeting held under the chairmanship of Professor Raisul Alam Chowdhury, advisor of the convening committee of Nilphamari district. Upazila BNP’s former senior vice-president Ariful Islam Liton, former organizational secretary Atikuzzaman Binju and Chhatra Dal member secretary Halimul Hossain Russel and other upazila BNP and organizational leaders also spoke.

The speakers highlighted various aspects of the working life of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, his heroic contribution in the Great War of Independence and his historical role in the development and establishment of democracy in the country. They said that Shaheed Ziaur Rahman was a visionary statesman, who played an important role in establishing the country’s independence, sovereignty and multi-party democracy. The steps taken by him in the development of agriculture, industry, education and infrastructure of the country are still remembered by the people.

Speakers also said that Shahid Zia’s ideology was to build a self-reliant Bangladesh believing in patriotism, democracy and nationalism. All must work unitedly to spread his ideals among the new generation. Besides, they called upon the leaders and activists to be vigilant and united to face all kinds of anti-national conspiracies in the current political situation.At the end of the discussion meeting, special prayers and prayers were held for the soul of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. At this time, the welfare of the country and the nation is desired.
