4 members of ‘Honeytrap’ gang arrested in Narsingdi

The District Gojando Police (DB) has arrested four members of an organized ‘honeytrap’ gang in Narsingdi for kidnapping, torturing and blackmailing women using them as love traps. This information was informed in a press release of the district police on Wednesday afternoon.
Arrested are Sharmin Akhtar aka Brishti (24) daughter of Ahid Mizar of Jinardi area of ​​Palash upazila, Smriti Akhtar (20) daughter of Hiran Mizar of Hajipur area of ​​Narsingdi Sadar, son of Arman Mizar of North Baghata village. Faysal Miza (34), son of Qayyum (25) and Jasim Miza of Khatehara village.
In the notification, Narsingdi Police Superintendent Md. A team of DB Police arrested four members of the honey trap gang from Sahepratap and Railway Station areas on Tuesday night under the direction of Abdullah-Al-Farak. Arrested in the preliminary investigation, the Janaz cycle has long been ensnaring various persons through women. They were called to a secluded place to meet later and were abducted and physically tortured.
In many cases, the victims were stripped of their clothes and videotaped with female members for fear of spreading it on social media, demanding huge sums of money. They were also threatened with death if they refused to pay. During the raid, a mobile phone used by one of the victims was recovered from the arrested Faisal Miza. It has been reported that Faisal Miza has given a confessional statement in the court.
The notification also informed that there are several cases against the arrested Smriti Akter including kidnapping and theft. On the other hand, there are at least seven cases filed against Faisal Miza in different police stations of Narsingdi and Chittagong, including the Prevention of Pornography Act, Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act, drugs and theft.
Narsingdi Gojando Police Inspector (Unarmed) Ershad Ullah said,”Recently, a young man was victimized by a honey trap in the city’s Nagrijakanda area. When the matter came to our notice, we launched a raid and arrested four members of this gang. Our operation is on to arrest the rest. A case has been filed at Narsingdi Model Police Station. The accused have been sent to the court with a 7-day remand application.
