BGB’s operation at Jessore border arrested 1 along with ganja and smuggled goods

BGB seized narcotics and illegal smuggled goods along with 1 accused in a raid at Jessore border.

On Tuesday (June 2) Jessore Battalion (49 BGB) conducted an anti-narcotics and anti-smuggling operation in the border area of Andulia BOP and Benapole ICP and seized Indian 06 kg ganja, 01 bicycle and 01 mobile, 16 sarees, 180 hand fans, 17 kg fuska, 1.5 kg raisins, 0.5 kg cumin, 01 packet of Sanpapari, 192 chocolates and 195 cosmetics items were seized.

According to BGB, the arrested accused is Jahangir Alam Khokon (40), son of deceased Ishaq Ali Mandal of Daulatpur village of Chowgacha police station of Jessore district. The arrested accused has been handed over to Chowgacha police station with drugs.

The value of the seized goods is Rs.2,98,000/-(two lakh ninety eight thousand).

In this regard, Jessore Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Golam Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, PSC said that for a long time intelligence activities and raids have been continued in the border area as per the special plan of BGB to arrest drug and smuggled goods. In continuation of this, Jessore Battalion is able to seize narcotics and various types of smuggled goods by conducting regular raids in the border areas under its responsibility. Such offensive activities of BGB will always continue on the border.‎
