
Debut of Companyganj CUJ; Al-Qur’an gifts and honors
The inauguration ceremony of the newly-elected committee of Companiganj Journalist Union (CUJ) of Sylhet, an organization of journalists, was held on Monday (27 October 2025) at 11 am at the local Bholaganj Sadapathar Resort.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by newly-elected president of Companiganj Journalist Union (CUJ) Md. Nizam Uddin and general secretary M.H.Journalist leaders, political leaders, social workers, bankers, teachers, media workers and guests of various classes and professions were present in the event organized by Shaheen. The guests who attended the inaugural function of Companyganj Journalist Union (CUJ) urged the organization to work as a symbol of unity, professional camaraderie and sense of responsibility. All the speakers called upon to present the correct image of the society by presenting objective news.Companyganj Journalist Union (CUJ) as one of the upazila journalists’ organization will work for the professional development and protection of journalists’ rights, he expressed hope.

In a special part of the discussion, Holy Quran was given to 10 students in the orphanage of Bholaganj Arabia Hafizia Islamia Madrasa. The students who received Hadiya are Usman Gani, Sajeeb Ahmed, Abdullah, Taha Hussain, Abu Bakkar, Zubair Ahmed, Sharif Ahmed,Akhlakur Rahman, Noor Mohammad and Abu Bakr Siddique.
At the end of the event, souvenirs and awards were given to the guests and members on behalf of the Journalist Union.
The grand event created a new impetus in the journalistic community and reaffirmed CUJ’s commitment to the practice of factual and unbiased journalism.
