Clash over possession of land in Savar, allegations of beating against several persons

A person named Md. Masud Rana (34) of Amin Bazar area of Savar Upazila of Dhaka has filed a case against several persons and 10-15 unknown persons on the charge of land grabbing. He was seriously injured in the incident and was admitted to a local pharmacy for treatment.

According to the complaint, Masood Rana was a washerman in the name of his father (Hazi Mohammad Qamar Ali).Begunbari, Amin Bazar owns 709 percent of the land. For a long time, some persons were trying to occupy the land illegally through forged documents. According to the complaint, Masood Rana filed a case (Case No. 604/2015) in the Joint District Judge 2nd Court, Dhaka in 2015 to establish ownership of this land, and obtained a degree of cancellation of the deed from the court. Subsequently on 31 August 2022, the deed was canceled at the Registry Office (deed no6190/2011), and completed the registration in his own name by canceling the registration of fake documents in the Assistant Land Office of Savar (Case No. 574/22).

On 30 September 2025, at 12:00 AM, Masud Rana complained that several persons tried to forcibly occupy his abandoned land. At that time, when he resisted, the defendants beat him with native weapons, sticks and nail-punches. As a result of the beating, Masood Rana was seriously injured. on his shoulderHe was seriously injured, with a bloody lip, a swollen head and a broken left arm.

After the complaint, Masood Rana said, the accused threatened to kill him and left the spot. On his screams, the locals came and rescued him and treated him at a pharmacy in Savar.

In this incident, Masud Rana filed a case at Model Police Station in Savar after discussion with local dignitaries. Against the accused in the police stationPreparations are underway to take legal action.
