Complaints of beating women, looting money and gold in Sadar area

In Syedpur Alamin Nagar area of Narayanganj Sadar Upazila, a woman was beaten up, house vandalized and gold ornaments and cash looted. The victim Shefali Begum (49) filed a written complaint at the Sadar Model Police Station on Monday (November 3).

In the complaint, he mentioned that his son Riyaz Uddin Sunny (33) was from a love relationship with Sonia Akhter (31) about 13 years ago.married They have two daughters in their family. However, since the marriage, Sonia Akhter and her family members were creating conflict on various pretexts and were putting pressure on the in-laws by demanding Tk 9 lakh for the cabin.

According to the complaint, Riyaz Uddin divorced Sonia through the registry on October 21, unable to bear the torture. Even after the divorce, Sonia was forced to stay at her in-laws’ house. Later on November 2When the lawyer notice was sent, Sonia Akhtar and other defendants got angry and attacked Shefali Begum’s house around 8 pm with 25-30 terrorists.

Shefali Begum said that when the attackers tried to enter the house, she stopped them. Then Al Mamun, Al Masud and Nazneen Begum pushed him and beat him and pulled his hair. After that they entered the house and vandalized the furniture and kept three lakh ten thousand rupees and two loads of four annas in the cupboardTakes gold ornaments. The assailants also tried to set the house on fire and threatened to kill them while leaving.

The victim said that since the attack, her son has been staying outside the house for fear of safety.

Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Nasir Uddin said, “The complaint has been accepted. Legal action will be taken subject to investigation.”
