Son killed father by suffocation by taking sleeping pills in Chittagong, arrested

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested son Mohammad Anwar (40) on the charge of killing his father in Chittagong’s Banshkhali. He was arrested from Chambal area under Banskhali police station on Saturday. When he appeared in court on Sunday, he confessed to the murder and gave a statement.

Investigation revealed that Mohammad Anwar planned to kill his father due to a family dispute over property. According to the plan, with the help of accomplices, a woman was used to lure the father home. Later, after taking sleeping pills with food, he was rendered unconscious and killed by strangulation with a towel.
