Those who applied for US citizenship after October 20 will be tested under the new rules. This rule has already been implemented. As per the new rules, those who will get the notice to take the exam, will prepare by reading 128 questions for the civics test. The 128-question preparation book is also already on the USCIS site. The examination is likely to begin in January, the first month of the new year.
The citizenship test will have four stages. These are whether the candidate has the ability to understand, know, speak and write English; Have an understanding of US government, political science and government structure; Whether he is a good moral character and innocent person and is involved in any type of crime including background check of the candidate before examinationWhether or not will also be tested in various ways.Inquiries may also be made from the candidate’s neighbors. Those who clear all the steps will be called for the main interview.
Experts say you should go the day the USCSI calls for an interview. It is better not to change the date. Arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes before the start of the interview. One can take his attorney with him if he wants. But all the questions have to be answered by the candidate. The attorney will not answer anything. He will stay with and see that everything is going properly. Whether there is any form of discrimination or whether the officer is doing something that should not be done. In such case, the attorney can object. But those who think they are brave, can go alone, they can go alone. The officer concerned may ask to see the candidate’s passport, ID, green card etc. before starting the interview. They should be shown.
According to the new rules, there is an opportunity to ask 20 questions in the civil test part of the interview. Out of these 20 questions the candidate has to answer at least 12 questions correctly to pass. If one answers 9 questions wrongly, he/she will fail this part. He will have to take the exam again.
English sentences will be given to understand the writing ability. Write the sentences correctly. Pass if you can write the first one. If someone writes wrong, he will be given another chance.
The officer will choose the sentence to read. The candidate should read out the English sentence accurately. If you fail to pass this exam, you will be given another chance.
During the citizenship test, the applicant must ensure that the information he provides is exactly the same as the information he provided while filling the form. The information cannot be falsified in any way. If there is a case against someone, if an investigation of a crime is going on, it is better to mention it. Because these things can be a problem if they are caught during the background check. If the case is settled, it is better to keep that document with you, it can be shown if necessary. Copy of tax return and tax transcript should be kept with it. A tax return is basically seen whether the applicant files taxes regularly or not and whether the government gets any tax due from him or not. Therefore, all outstanding taxes must be paid before taking the citizenship test. That document should also be kept with you. Apart from this, the questions which can be answered both yes and no in the citizenship application, must be answered correctly. Because there are sexual crimes, non-maintenance of children, previous spouses, membership of any criminal organization or banned organization or not, etc. Many people get tickets on the subway or while driving, so if any such ticket is received, its current status and the necessary documents should be kept when it is settled. Basically, the applicant should have all the qualifications that a good moral character and safe person should have.
In this regard, an attorney said, those who have submitted their application since October 20, after the review of their application and after the background check, the examination may start after the next two to three months. It is most likely to start next January. Because it takes about three to five months after applying for citizenship. Exam can be done in less time if everything is done quickly after application. If one does not pass a section, he/she will have to take the next section in which he/she fails. He also said that if a person goes outside the country or commits any kind of crime after passing the citizenship test, it should be reported to the concerned authorities. Background checks are conducted before candidates are sworn in. If someone commits a crime, he will not swear. When someone goes out of the country, it is checked how long they stayed and whether they committed any crime during that time. Oath may be delayed due to this. So those who pass the citizenship test, should get an American passport and go out after taking the oath. Traveling with a visa or no rear seal of the country of destination.
The last step of citizenship is the certificate will be issued after taking the oath. Those who have earlier work authorization card and green card, must submit them to the officer. After that, the citizen certificate should be taken. If a person fraudulently keeps a previously issued document with himself, he may not be sworn. If someone forgets to carry these documents while taking oath for any reason, someone from his family should arrange to bring them to the venue of oath taking.
