His wife Sonia Akhter Banya has filed a case against 13 named accused and 7-8 unidentified accused in the premeditated killing of a businessman named Md Imdad Ali (45) in Naragati Police Station of Narail over a business dispute and personal feud. Sonia Akter Bonya said that some influential local gangsters and drug dealers had been conspiring to kill her husband for a long time. The accused mentioned in the statement are – Baisona Union Parishad Chairman and Naragati BNP Local Government Affairs Secretary Chunnu Sheikh, Russell Sheikh, Shamim Sardar, Lipon Sheikh, Parvez Sheikh, Ashiq Sheikh, Atiq Sheikh, Zakir Sheikh,Md. Naeem Molya, Md. Ashad Sheikh, Humayun Sheikh, Rasul Sheikh and Sohail Sheikh. According to the statement, at 5:30 pm on Monday, November 24, Md. Imdad Ali left for the market for family work. When he reached the Amtala intersection of Yogania Bazar at approximately 6:45, the accused, who were already riding camels, surrounded him and tried to beat him. Chunnu Sheikh first punched the upper left side of the chest. Then the other accused Lathi, Ramda,By using weapons including hammer, knife and gupti, he inflicted repeated blows on his stomach, chest, legs and body. Accused No. 2 cut the left side of his stomach with a knife. Accused No. 4 and 5 inflicted severe fractured injuries on chest and legs with sticks. Accused No. 6 tried to suffocate the accused by strangulation and the rest of the accused confirmed death by slapping the stomach and chest with sticks. Md. Shahjahan Sheikh, Md. Shahid Sheikh, Mohammad Hossain, Md. Mofizur Rahman and Shaukat.Molya was present. They tried but failed to stop the armed accused. When Imdad Ali was taken to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital with serious injuries, the authorities declared him brought dead.
According to GD No-1201 of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, the body was sent to the morgue and after the post-mortem was handed over to the family on 25 November 2025. After that, Sonia Akter Bonya filed the case at Naragati Police Station.Officer (OC) Ashiqur Rahman said that the case has been accepted and the operation is underway to arrest those involved in the incident. A number of possible locations have already been raided. The victim’s family claimed that Imdad Ali was an innocent and peaceful person. His killing cast a shadow of deep grief and terror in the area. The victim’s wife said, “My husband was brutally murdered, we want the accused to be brought to justice soonGet arrested and punished.” Locals said that this killing has terrified the common people of the market and there is a danger of re-violence in the area if justice is not done quickly.
