Murder of a friend by a friend: Surrender to the police station with a blood-stained ax

A heartbreaking murder has taken place in Mymensingh’s Trishal. Yesterday Thursday (November 27, 2025) around 9 pm, a young man named Md. Ohedul Islam Anik (22) came to Trishal police station with a blood-stained Chinese ax in his hand and surrendered after admitting the responsibility of the murder.

Anik told the police that around 8:45 PM, he hacked his childhood friend Muntasir Fahim (22) to death near the water tank near the Govt Nazrul Academy ground in Darirampur area of ​​Trishal 4th Ward Municipality.
The reason for the murder – ‘revenge for the loss of life’ due to drugs and intoxication, Anik claimed in the initial interrogation that Fahim had “ruined his life” due to intoxication. He committed this murder to take revenge from that anger.

After Anik’s confession, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body of Muntasir Fahim. The body has been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
