Poetry writer Shamima Nice received the Asia Human Rights Foundation award for fiction

Poet and lyricist Shamima Nais has received the International Human Rights Peace Award-2025 in recognition of her unique contribution in presenting human rights, human values and social justice issues in literary language. He was given this honor by the initiative of Asia Human Rights Foundation.

On the occasion of World Human Rights Day, the award was officially handed over to him at a discussion meeting and awarding ceremony organized at the Vishwa Sahitya Center Auditorium in Dhaka on December 13, 2025. In the same event, meritorious people who have made special contributions in various fields of society were honored and winter clothes were distributed among the helpless and cold people.

Honorable Justice Shikder Maqbul Haque of Bangladesh Supreme Court was present as the chief guest in the event under the chairmanship of HM Moniruzzaman, chairman of the organization. He said in his speech, the role of literature and culture is very important in establishing human rights. It is essential for both the state and the society to raise the voices of the neglected, oppressed and oppressed people of the society through literature.

Eminent educationists, professors, doctors, engineers, senior media personalities, human rights leaders, civil society representatives and national dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Speakers appreciated the role of writers, journalists and cultural workers in protecting human rights.

Shamima Nais was awarded the International Human Rights Peace Prize along with other luminaries in recognition of her special contribution to fiction for spreading the message of human rights consciousness, peace and tolerance. Organizers pointed out that women, children, marginalized communities, social inequality and humanitarian crises are deeply reflected in his literary work.
