Tribute by President and Chief Adviser at National Memorial on Victory Day

Tuesday (December 16) at 6:30 am President Md. Shahabuddin first entered the National Memorial and paid his respects by placing a wreath at the main pillar of the Shaheed Bedi. Then at 7:10 in the morning, the chief advisor of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs.

After placing the wreath, the President and the Chief Adviser stood in silence for a while paying respect to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Great Liberation War of 1971.

At this time, a smart team of Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force gave the national salute. The bugle plays a melodious tune, creating an emotional atmosphere in the memorial premises.

After paying homage, the President and Chief Adviser signed the visitor’s book kept at the memorial.

Chiefs of three forces, members of advisory council, diplomats of different countries, injured and crippled freedom fighters and their family members, Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka Division and Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka District were present at this time.After all the formalities, the motorcade of the President and Chief Adviser left the memorial premises for Dhaka.
