BNP will save the country from the brink of destruction like in the past: Tarek Rahman
As in the past, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will save Bangladesh from the brink of destruction, said the acting chairman of the party, Tariq Rahman. He said, difficult times are coming – everyone should be united to face this time.
On Sunday (December 21) afternoon, he said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the Shaheed Titu Auditorium in Bogra, in the inauguration ceremony of the digital monument built in memory of the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising by the initiative of the district BNP.
Tariq Rahman said, “BNP has saved the country from the brink of destruction in the past and will do so again. But difficult times are coming. So we all have to be united.”
At the beginning of the speech, he remembered the martyred Osman Hadi, the spokesman of Inqilab Manch, who was shot dead, and said, “Osman Hadi was a man of the path of democracy. He believed in the politics of votes and was a candidate for the next election. To show true respect to Shahid Osman Hadi, the martyrs and fighters of the July coup and the martyrs of 1971, we must have only one goal – to establish peace in the country and move the country forward.”
He said, the country is now free from dictatorship. To make this freedom meaningful, the country has to be rebuilt from the ruins.
Regarding the inauguration of the digital monument, Tariq Rahman said that those who were martyred in the July movement are mainly the youth of this generation. This generation has a deep connection with information technology and internet. But the internet is still expensive, which is not accessible to many.
Promising to bring internet facilities to the doorsteps of the youth, he said, “If the BNP can form a government with the support of the people in the upcoming elections, internet services will be made easier and affordable. The free internet connection that has been introduced in Azizul Haque College today is an example of that.”
Expressing anger over the mismanagement of IT parks in the country at that time, he said that most of the digital parks which were built by wasting people’s money during the dictatorial regime are practically closed. If BNP comes to power, these IT parks will be refurbished.
Tariq Rahman said about the reform of the health sector. If BNP forms the government, one lakh health workers will be appointed, of which 80 to 85 percent will be women health workers.
Regarding employment abroad, he said, the youth will be made suitable for the international job market through language education and training.
At the end of the speech, emphasizing on the 31 points and new slogan of BNP, he said, “Our main task is one – do work, build the country; Bangladesh first.”Bogra district BNP president Ziaul Karim Badsha presided over the event and the party’s central and local leaders and organizational leaders were present.
