Bus-minibus mass search operation at Payra Setu toll plaza.

Barisal-Patuakhali-Kuakata-Lebukhali-Baga Highway, Lebukhali Payra Bridge toll plaza police check post area, bus, minibus and motorcycle microbus various vehicles have started mass search operation. The operation is being carried out with the aim of recovering illegal weapons in view of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The operation started from 7 pm on Monday under the initiative of Thana Police under ‘Devil Hunt Phase-2’. Officer-in-charge of Dumki police station led the operation. Salim Uddin, investigation OC Md. Rafiqul Islam, police said that long-distance buses, minibuses, microbuses, pickups operating on various routes in the southern region from different parts of the country including the capital Dhaka,Vans and motorcycles are being searched. At this time, the bodies of suspected vehicles and passengers were searched and documents were verified. The police said that such operations will continue to protect law and order and to prevent any kind of sabotage around the elections.
