Press conference to protest “attempted seizure of waqf property in Naogaon”.

A victim named Suraiya Fauji Nazneen Sultana held a press conference protesting the complaint of expropriation of waqf property in Niamatpur, Naogaon.
On Monday (December 22), the victim Suraiya Fauji Nazneen Sultana said in a written statement at a press conference in the area adjacent to Rasulpur Union Parishad No. 5 of the upazila that Haji Mofiz Uddin’s waqf property was bequeathed to his only son Moin Uddin in 1947. But the heirs of Mofiz Uddin’s 6 daughters continue to seize and sell that property. He also said that our occupied lands were given to Barga farmers. The rice of that land was to be paid at the rate of 6 manas per bigha, but at the instigation of Salim Reza and his people, they refused to pay. He claims that a group is caught in a deep conspiracy regarding waqf property. Even though the court has issued section 144/45 against them, they are continuing to disobey the court’s order to seize land. In the press conference, he also said that local Salim and Rahim Ganga have been threatening to kill my brother and me at different times. We demand a fair trial of this incident. However, denying the allegations, Salim Reza said, “We have not seized anything by force.  Haji Mofiz Uddin’s 6 daughters and one son Moin Uddin Sardar have been allotted shares in a deed dated 1921. Accordingly, we are taking possession of them by inheritance. Everything will become clear very soon. In this regard (Niamatpur-Manda) Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Mahmud said, land related matters are the matter of the court. If the court gives us any direction, we can act on it. He also said that if any complaint is received that anyone is trying to organize any kind of criminal offence, necessary action will be taken subject to investigation.‎
