
Sagar Kebab House on College Road in Chuadanga fined Tk 30,000
Sagar Kebab House was fined Tk 30,000 in the supervisory operation of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate in the municipal area of Chuadanga Sadar Upazila on Wednesday (January 15) afternoon. According to sources of the Directorate, this surveillance operation was conducted in different areas of the municipality from 02:30 pm to 04:00 pm. The operation was led by the Assistant Director of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, Chuadanga District Office. During the operation, Sagar Kebab House located in College Road area was searched. Meanwhile, the establishment was found guilty of not having a health certificate and storing stale chicken fries for sale. Under Section 43 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009, the owner of the establishment, Md. Jewel Rana, was fined Rs. 30,000/- (thirty thousand) during the raid. During this time, strict instructions were given to the traders regarding the following. Keeping the product price list updated. Buying and selling goods at fixed and reasonable prices. Refrain from selling expired and substandard products. Safe Food Officer Mr. Sajib Pal, Municipal Sanitary Inspector Mr. Nargis Jahan and Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) representative Mr. Md.Rafiqul Islam. Besides, a team of Chuadanga District Police participated in the operation to ensure security. It has been informed that such supervisory operations will continue on behalf of the district administration in the interest of the public.
