
Chhatra Dal leader expelled after arrest with drugs in Kotalipara
Amtali Union Chhatra Dal general secretary Ramzan Sheikh (24) has been expelled from the party post after he was arrested with drugs in Kotalipara of Gopalganj.
Ramzan Sheikh is the son of Makkel Sheikh of Unshia village of Amtali Union of Upazila. He was the General Secretary of Amtali Union Chhatra Dal.
According to Kotalipara police sources, on Sunday (January 11) around 8:30 pm, the DB police arrested Chhatra Dal leader Ramzan Sheikh and his associate Rashed Sheikh (25), son of Harun Sheikh of the same village, along with 12 pieces of Yaba while selling drugs in front of Bhai Bhai Bakery of Unshia village of the upazila. A case under Narcotics Control Act was filed at Kotalipara police station in this incident. Ramzan and Rashed Sheikh, who were arrested on Monday morning, were sent to jail through the court.
Meanwhile, on Monday night, upazila Chhatra Dal convener Lalon Sheikh confirmed the expulsion of Ramzan Sheikh from the party post by publishing a press release on social media Facebook.
The press release signed by Upazila Chhatra Dal convener Lalon Sheikh and general secretary Niloy Howladar said,Ramzan Sheikh, general secretary of Amtali Union Chhatra Dal, has been expelled from the party post based on specific allegations of breaking organizational discipline.
