According to zoo sources, Rangpur zoo is one of the two government zoos in the country. As the climate is suitable for breeding here, various rare species of animals breed in this Rangpur zoo. Various species of birds including tigers, bears, lions, deer and hippopotamus have already been bred in Rangpur Zoo.

According to authorities, Rangpur Zoo has produced few cubs since its opening in 1991. The cubs born have been sent as gifts to several countries including Dhaka Zoo.

Royal Bengal tiger Romeo Juliet lit up the couple’s home and gave birth to two cubs three months ago. The two cubs have been named King and Queen. Since birth, the two cubs of the Royal Bengal Tiger have been taken care of by the zoo authorities with special care. The cubs are kept separately with mother Juliet so that they can quietly drink the mother’s milk. During these three months, father Romeo was kept separately. They are also given medical care very carefully and seriously. After 3 months of intensive care, the two cubs were reunited with their parents from Sunday, December 21.

The number of visitors for both the Cubs has increased several fold from earlier. The king and queen are also very happy to have parents together in the big cage. The visitors are enjoying the running of the cubs and playing with their parents. Children are happy to see the tiger cub. nadus-Nudus tiger cubs have become a source of entertainment for the visitors.

Sharmin Akhter, who came from Kurigram to see the tiger cubs, said that she came with her two daughters to see the two tiger cubs. He said that it is very good to see two cubs of Royal Bengal Tiger in the cage. Girls are happy too. However, he also requested that the authorities will keep the two cubs in Rangpur through good care and care. Similarly, Rezaul Karim Manik came from Pirganj with two boys and girls to see the tiger cubs. His son and daughter are very happy to see the tiger cub.

Farhad Hossain from Kamal Kachna area of ​​Rangpur city came with his whole family. Nice to see the tiger cub. He said that they like the killing of the two children more. Dr. Shahadat Hossain, doctor of Rangpur zoo, said that the royal Bengal tiger couple had been pregnant twice before but the baby was lost due to miscarriage. Special care is taken this time for this. Regular maintenance is done. As a result, the couple gave birth to two cubs. Alhamdulillah both cubs are good. As it is winter, Jat is being taken separately.

Note that Rangpur Zoo was established in 1989 but it was opened in 1991. 23 species of animals were exhibited during the open. At present there are about 25 animals of 27 species in the zoo.
