
Punak’s Humanitarian Initiative in Khagrachari: Police Women’s Welfare Association on the side of cold children
Police Women’s Welfare Association (PUNAK), Khagrachari Hills District Branch stands by the side of cold helpless, destitute and orphaned children in Khagrachari to spread the warmth of humanitarian sympathy in the severe cold.
“Hand in hand, let the cold get warm; every night of winter let the warmth spread to all souls”-capturing this humanitarian slogan (December 28) blankets were distributed among one and a half hundred helpless and underprivileged children at the drill shed of Khagrachari Police Lines on Sunday afternoon under the initiative of Punak.
President of Punak, Khagrachari hill district branch Fatima Mustarin Chowdhury presided over the event. He handed out winter clothes to the children with his own hands.
At the time, he said, “This small effort of ours will reduce the suffering of helpless people in the severe winter due to social responsibility. The main goal of Punak is to ensure the basic rights of underprivileged children and stand by them.” He called upon the wealthy and conscious sections of the society to come forward with the help of cool people.
Punak, Khagrachari hill district branch vice-president Sanjida Bashir, treasurer Khingmasu Rakhine and other leaders of the organization and policemen were present in this humanitarian program.Smiles of relief and joy appear on the faces of the children benefiting from this initiative in Punak—which carries a warm message of humanity on a winter day.
