Courtesy meeting with Canadian and Swiss diplomats with Tariq Rahman

In continuation of international interest in Bangladesh’s ongoing political context and democratic progress, one diplomatic meeting with BNP Chairman Tarek Rahman is being held one after another.
On Monday (January 19) at 11:30 a.m., Canada’s High Commissioner in Dhaka, Ajit Singh, paid a courtesy call on BNP Chairman’s office at Gulshan in the capital. According to the party sources, the political situation of Bangladesh, democracy, human rights and various aspects of bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting besides mutual exchange of skills.
At this time, BNP’s joint secretary general Humayun Kabir and the member of the advisory council of the chairman of the party. Mahadi Amin was present. BNP media cell member Khairul Kabir Khan confirmed the meeting.
Earlier, Switzerland’s ambassador to Dhaka, Reto Rengli, paid a courtesy call on the chairman of BNP on Sunday (January 18) evening. In that meeting, bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Switzerland, democracy, human rights situation and contemporary political reality were discussed cordially.
According to political analysts, these series of meetings of foreign diplomats with the top leadership of BNP is the democratic crisis of Bangladesh.A reflection of the international community’s monitoring and interest in fair elections and human rights issues.
