
Horrible clash between two groups of drug traffickers in Hoikang Minabazar,

A fierce clash took place between two armed groups over drug trafficking in Minabazar area of Hoikang Union in Teknaf.
According to local sources, the clash started around 8:30 pm on Monday.
According to the locals, the clash took place due to a long-standing dispute between Mannan-Harun group of Minabazar area and Jasim group of neighboring Jhimongkhali area over Yaba trafficking and control.
More than three hundred rounds were fired between both sides. Witnesses said hundreds of heavy firearms were seen in the hands of those who took part in the clashes.
But even after 24 hours of the incident, there is panic among the locals as no terrorist has been arrested.
According to several reliable sources, these shootings took place in connection with Yaba smuggling and its control of about 8 to 10 crore rupees. Locals fear that these heavy weapons may increase the risk of violence in the upcoming local elections.
During the conflict, extreme panic spread throughout the area. Hundreds of people were forced to run in different directions in search of safe shelter at the sound of gunfire.
It has been alleged that a BGB camp and Hoikang police outpost were located near the incident site, but no effective action was taken during the incident.The local people have demanded an immediate operation by joint forces to recover illegal weapons and arrest the terrorists involved.
