Extreme deterioration of law and order in Badarganj. 01 killed and 10 injured in clashes between two sides of juvenile gangs

A young man named Ariful Islam (25) was killed in a clash between two gangs of juvenile gangs in Badarganj of Rangpur. The deceased is Rezaul Islam son of Pathanpara village in Ward No. 9 of Ariful town. Yesterday Tuesday (April 5) this murder happened in Baluavata village of the city.

According to police and local sources, two groups of juvenile gang members accused in a murder case went to Rangpur court on Tuesday to appear. Meanwhile, after the appearance between both the groups, a scuffle took place in the court premises. Due to this, the Pathanpara youth gang and Collegiate youth gang returned to the area on that day armed with sharp weapons and chased each other for two hours. At this time, Ariful, son of Rezaul of Pathanpara village, was stabbed to death on the spot, 10/12 people were injured on both sides and admitted to various hospitals and clinics. The Thana police came to know about the incident and brought the situation under control, but the tension is prevailing now, the locals fear that the two groups of juvenile gangs may join forces at any moment.
The resident doctor of Badarganj police station said that the teenager Ariful died before being brought to the hospital.
Feroze Shah of Collegiate neighborhood said, “I don’t have any youth gang, I protest when I see injustice, that’s why people think of me as a leader, but a gang always tries to implicate me in a false case, the youth gang members vandalized and looted my house when I came to the court and sent them.” Mominur of Pathanpara said, Badarganj was once peaceful, but Feroz Shah has created several juvenile gangs in the area with the greed of drugs and extortion money. Today, the people of Badarganj are hostages in the hands of his juvenile gang. On the condition of anonymity, local residents said that 7/8 youth gangs have formed in Badarganj, with various professional people as hostages. Local political leaders use juvenile gangs as contacts for criminal activities.Again they bring money and lawyers to bail the court but many of them want to leave the youth gang and live socially, they are not allowed to return as a political tool.

Officer-in-charge of Badarganj police station Hasan Zahid Sarkar told our time that one person has been killed after the clash. Police have been provided to the scene and the situation is calm.
