Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton held an exchange meeting with the leaders of Rajshahi Press Club. This exchange meeting was held in the mini conference room of Nagar Bhavan on Thursday (May 14) afternoon. In the meeting, the leaders of Rajshahi Press Club expressed various views on city development, traffic congestion and autorickshaw control, addition of CC cameras, industrialization-employment, establishment of modern standard educational institutions, de-encroachment of footpaths, conservation of water bodies, establishment of playgrounds, establishment of ward offices cum community centers to ensure civic services etc. At this time, the Rasik administrator listened to their speech attentively and assured to take phased steps. The Rajshahi Press Club leaders expressed their full cooperation when the Rasik Administrator asked for cooperation in the development of Rajshahi.

Rasik Administrator said that various plans including cleaning of drains, repairing of road ditches, fog spray to kill mosquitoes, development of tourist center around Padma river are being implemented. Plans have been taken to develop the ground adjacent to the Hi-Tech Park as a mini stadium, install fountains in Gulzarbagh and Bhadra Lake, develop the tourism industry, plant trees etc. We are the first in the country to create awareness leaflets and distribute them door to door to prevent measles and rubella. 100% target met for measles-rubella vaccination.
