In football, Barguna Municipality is the champion, Betagi Upazila is the runner-up

The closing ceremony of “New Bud Sports 2026” organized by District Administration in Barguna has been successfully completed. The event was held in a colorful and festive atmosphere with the presence of players, sports organizers and spectators from various upazilas and municipalities of the district.
Barguna Municipal team won the football category by showing great skill in the final game. Betagi upazila team has won the honor of being the runner-up.
Deputy Commissioner Midz, Tashlima Akhtar was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He handed over trophies and prizes to the winners.
Deputy Commissioner Miz, Tashlima Akhtar said that the importance of sports in the healthy entertainment and physical-mental development of the youth is immense. Sports play an important role in keeping the youth away from drugs and crime.”
He further said, “Events like the new budding sports will help develop the talent of the youth and such events will continue in the future as well.”
Other officials of the district administration, sports organizers and local dignitaries were present on the occasion. Expressing gratitude to the organizers, the participants termed the event as a positive initiative for the young society.
