Illegal goods of Tk 26 lakh seized in 49 BGB raids

49 BGB seized illegal smuggled goods in a raid at Jessore border.

On Tuesday (May 26) Jessore Battalion (49 BGB) conducted an anti-smuggling operation in the border areas of Benapole BOP, Amarakhali Checkpost and Benapole ICP and recovered 170 sarees, 40 Indian-made garments, 03 blankets, 171 kg of fuska, 395 food items, 534 different types of chocolates and 2184 Indian Cosmetics seized.

According to BGB, the value of seized goods is Rs. 25,78,040/- (twenty five lakh seventy eight thousand forty).

In this regard, Jessore Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Golam Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, PSC said that for a long time intelligence activities and raids have been continued in the border area as per the special plan of BGB to arrest drug and smuggled goods. In continuation of this, Jessore Battalion is able to seize narcotics and various types of smuggled goods by conducting regular raids in the border areas under its responsibility. Such offensive activities of BGB will always continue on the border.‎
