
The idol was recovered after a day of speculation

Bochaganj Thana police received a report of finding a difficult stone idol while fishing in a pond in Muraripur village of Ishaniya union of Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur. The police recovered the Vishnu idol from the paddy field in an abandoned condition after a whole day of efforts.
The operation to rescue the idol started at 10 am on Tuesday, May 26 and ended at 10:30 pm. SI (retd) Likhan Kumar Mandal came to know through National Emergency Service 999 that a rough stone statue was lying on the paddy land lane of one Md. Said Chowdhury in South Muraripur village of Isania Union. The matter is said by the OC of the police station. When told to Mizanur Rahman, he quickly sent the police to the spot to take necessary measures. SI (retd)Likhon Kumar Mandal along with the Sangeet force arrived at the spot and brought the Vishnu idol weighing about 11 kg from the paddy land of Md. Said Chowdhury of Dakshin Muraripur village of Isania Union and brought it to the police station. The estimated value of which is around 11 lakh rupees. A GD has been made in this regard vide GD No-1339. As of writing this report, the statue is in the custody of Bochaganj police station.
