O eternal hero,
We are the generation that didn’t get to see you with our own eyes.
But we have heard the story of your thunderous voice from Kalurghat Betar Kendra, the voice that one day gave the mantra of liberation to the bewildered nation.
You built a new Bangladesh from the ruins with utmost compassion.
Assassins thought to delete you. But they did not know that in every dust of Bengal’s 56 thousand square miles, in the sweat of every hardworking person and in the veins of millions of youth, you are an indestructible ideal. Today your emptiness not only makes us cry, but burns in our hearts an indomitable gunpowder of protest.
