
Housewife hacked to death at her home in Netrakona: Husband and son injured, 1 arrested
A gruesome and brutal murder has taken place in Netrakona town. A housewife named Manowara Begum (55) was hacked to death at her home in Katli area of the city on Monday (June 1) around 9 pm. The victim’s husband Abu Chan (60) and their son Munna Mia (25) were seriously injured in the incident. Immediately after the incident, the locals arrested an accused person named Rashid Mia and handed him over to the police.
According to local and police sources, there was no electricity in the house at the time of the incident. On that occasion, the assailant first hacked Manwara Begum to death with a sharp weapon. Then, when they tried to stop him, the son Munna Mia and her husband Abu Chan were cut and injured.
Liza Mani, the daughter of the deceased, said that she returned home around 9 pm and found her father and brother lying in a bloody state. On his screams, the people around rushed to rescue the injured and sent them to the hospital. After that, the body of his mother Manwara Begum was recovered from under the bed of the house.
Confirming the truth of the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Sajal Kumar Sarkar said that the police reached the spot after receiving the information. Accused Rashid Mia was arrested with the help of locals. He is a resident of the same area and a rickshaw puller by profession. The accused has been taken into custody for questioning and investigations are on to find out the real reason behind the incident.
Meanwhile,This tragic incident has cast a shadow of mourning on the entire area. There is extreme tension in the area after the incident.
