Eid Purnamilani and reception for Kamal Khan was held in Sylhet under the initiative of Society of National Media Commission

Kamal Khan was felicitated and Eid Plenary function was held as he was elected Central Organizing Secretary of Society of National Media Commission.

On Monday (1 June 2026) at 4 pm at the Sylhet central office of the Society of National Media Commission, media workers, social workers, cultural personalities and leaders of organizations participated in the program organized by the division, district and upazila branches.

At the beginning of the program, the former Vice President of Golapganj Upazila Branch Salim Ahmad recited the Holy Quran. The program was conducted by Zuber Ahmad Surgeon.

Shahan Uddin Naju, former general secretary of the organization presided over the meeting. Prominent poet and writer Dewan Matiur Rahman Khan was present as the chief guest. Zahirul Islam Chowdhury, the departmental member of the organization and the district representative of Daily Business File newspaper, spoke as the main speaker.

Ashiq Ahmad, district representative of National Weekly Investigation Report, departmental member of the organization, Sebul Reza, cultural personality and social worker, Sylhet Divisional Online Press Club and General Secretary Emdadur Rahman Chowdhury Zia were present as special guests.

Kavi Nuruddin Russell, managing editor of Sylhet weekly newspaper, delivered the welcome speech.

Also speaking were Sylhet headquarters representative and district member of the organization Shihab Uddin, director of SK TV Abdul Ahad, divisional member of the organization Badrul Alam, district member Abul Kalam and former senior vice president of the organization upazila Shah Alam, former joint general secretary Mujibur Rahman, member and representative of Daily Talash TV Khaled Ahmad, journalist Md Nurul Islam, journalist Nizam. Uddin, along with other guests.

The speakers congratulated the newly elected Central Organizing Secretary Kamal Khan and wished him success. He was later felicitated with flowers and a memento.At the end of the program, former organizing secretary Juber Ahmad Sarjan was presented with a memento by everyone along with the guests for conducting the activities of the present organization well and the Eid Plenary was held in a sincere and cordial atmosphere.
