
Allegation of beating and molesting a housewife in Birampur, Dinajpur, written complaint filed in the police station

Two neighbors have been accused of beating, molesting and attempting to kill a housewife due to an earlier dispute in Chandpur Madhyapara of Birampur Municipal area of Dinajpur. It has been mentioned in the complaint that the injured housewife is currently undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex. It is known that Md. Zakaria Mandal (41), a resident of Chandpur Madhyapara of Ward No. 7 of Birampur Municipality, filed a written complaint at Birampur Police Station. In the complaint, he mentioned that they had a family dispute with their neighbors Al Amin (28) and Rasheda Begum (45) for a long time. Due to this, the accused were often threatening him and his family members and giving various threats. According to the complaint, on May 16, 2026, around 2:30 in the afternoon, when Zakaria Mandal was not at home, the accused entered the boundary of his house with domestic weapons and started abusing him. At that time, when his wife Najma Begum (35) protested, the accused became angry. According to the victim’s family, accused Rasheda Begum beat Nazma Begum with a bamboo stick and Al Amin SS pipe. It caused swelling and bruises in different parts of his body. The complaint also said that at one point, Al Amin tried to molest the housewife by pulling her clothes. On the other hand, Rasheda Begum grabbed a handful of her hair and tried to kill her by strangling her on the ground. At that time, Nazma Begum screamed and the people around came forward and the accused left the spot. The complaint also claimed that they threatened to attack again, file false cases and kill them before leaving.
Later, with the help of locals, the injured housewife was admitted to Birampur Upazila Health Complex. According to family sources, he is currently undergoing treatment there. Mentioning the names of some local people as witnesses of the incident, the complainant said,There has been some delay in filing the complaint at the police station due to discussion with the family members and relatives and ensuring the treatment of the injured wife. In this regard, sources from Birampur police station of Bangladesh Police have informed that a written complaint has been received and necessary legal action will be taken after investigating the matter.
