Demanding immediate payment of salary and bonus to workers before Eid, stop eviction of hawker-rickshaws and prevent price hike –
A rally organized by the Bangladesh Labor and Employment Federation.

A rally was held in front of the National Press Club on May 16 at 3.00 pm on the initiative of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Workers and Employees Federation.
The rally was held to demand payment of salary bonus to workers before Eid, smooth return home, stop eviction of hawkers and rickshaws without rehabilitation and stop price increase of goods, start rationing system. Before the rally, a protest march took place around various roads and ended at the National Press Club. Central General Secretary of the organization Masud Reza, Organizational Secretary Raju Ahmed and others addressed the rally held under the chairmanship of Labor leader Manas Nandi.
Leaders in the rally said that the past experience shows that a large part of the workers do not get salary bonus on Eid, spend Eid with their families at home, cannot pay their debts. Many people don’t get leave or get leave late and have to bear the pressure of additional rent, accidents and other hardships. The leaders called on the government and authorities to take initiatives to pay the salary bonus immediately and conduct Eid without any disturbance. At the same time, he demanded to break the price increase syndicate centered on Eid and keep the liquid price within the affordability, to stop the eviction without the rehabilitation of ordinary low-income hawkers and rickshaw pullers.
