A young man who has just returned from abroad has foiled a terrible robbery attempt in Chargowali village of Daudkandi upazila. The person named Zakir Hossain has shown immense bravery by risking his life and jumping on the dacoit group with native weapons.
According to local sources, a group of 12-13 armed robbers attacked the house of Chowk on the west side of Chargowali Bazar around 2:50 last night. The family members panicked when the robbers tried to enter the house. However, Zakir Hossain, the owner of the house who had just come from abroad, instead of surrendering in fear, stood up with infinite bravery.
He took a bow from the house and pounced on the armed robbers alone. A dacoit was seriously injured in Zakir Hossain’s Elopatadi raid. Seeing his sudden and fierce resistance, the dacoit gang was bewildered and forced to flee the scene in fear of their lives.
Meanwhile, hearing the scuffle and the screams of the house members, a young neighbor quickly went to the local mosque and made a microphone. Hundreds of villagers gathered in the Chargowali market with machetes, sticks and native weapons after hearing the announcement of robbery on the mosque’s microphone late at night. Even though the villagers searched all around, the whereabouts of the robbers could not be found.Since this incident, there is extreme tension and excitement in the whole area. Zakir Hossain’s heroic story is now on the lips of the people of the area. However, such a daring attempt of robbery has spread a new fear among the villagers. Local residents strongly demanded regular police patrolling and strengthening of security in the area to prevent such untoward incidents in the future.
