The names of the new committee president, senior vice president and general secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad New York Chapter have been announced. In the announced committee, Sakhawat Ali, former GS of Sylhet MC University Students’ Union, founding general secretary of United States Chhatra League and well-known organizer of expatriate community, has been nominated as the president and former Nandit student leader and social activist Subrata Talukdar as the general secretary. Apart from this, eminent cultural personality Siraj Uddin Ahmed Sohag was given the responsibility of senior vice president.

While announcing the committee, Dr. Nooran Nabi said, “The Bangabandhu Parishad New York chapter will work with the conviction of Bangabandhu’s ideals, the spirit of the liberation war and the construction of non-sectarian Bangladesh. The responsibility entrusted to the shoulders of two former Chhatra League leaders today is not just the leadership of an organization – it is a historic responsibility to spread Bangabandhu’s ideals among the new generation.”
He also said,”The Bangabandhu Parishad will be made into the most powerful, well-organized and effective organization in New York and the United States. This organization will play an important role in the implementation of Bangabandhu’s ideology abroad by uniting all the forces of the liberation war.”

Meanwhile, the newly formed leaders expressed their commitment to speed up and strengthen the activities of the organization and announced that the full committee would be announced within the next three months.
