In this year’s 49th National Athletics, Panchbibi’s pride athlete Zafreen Akhter won the gold medal in women’s discus throw. 29 years after Jotsna Afroz (42.90) meters for Bangladesh Navy in 1993, Zafarin took possession of the record by crossing (43.48) meters in 49th edition Many sportspersons also commented that such a result may deprive Bangladesh of the gold medal from the SA Games. Zafrin said, I practiced hard for something good and got good results in the competition. I never thought I would set a record, but I was surprised to see my own record and it feels good. He also said that it is definitely possible to bring the country a medal in the SA Games if there are good facilities in the camp of the national team.
