
Body of missing youth recovered in Rajbari’s Kalukhali,attempt to burn it
The body of Asadul Islam (25),
who went missing in Rajbari’s Kalukhali upazila, was recovered from a wood field with his hands and feet tied. After the murder, the miscreants tried to set the body on fire, police said.
On Monday (June 15) around 7:30 am, Kalukhali police recovered the body from a jute field next to Suryadia Madrasa in Madapur union of the upazila. The deceased was the son of Shahjahan Mandal of Bilmanushmari village in Madapur union of Asadul Islam upazila. He was a student of Mir Musharraf Hossain Degree College. District Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Advocate Md. Nurul Islam claimed that Asadul Islam was an active worker of the organization. According to police and local sources, Asadul was missing since leaving home on Sunday afternoon. The family members searched but did not find him and reported the matter to the Kalukhali police station at around 10 pm. Later on Monday morning, the police went to the spot and recovered his body from the jute field. Pansha Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Debbrat Sarkar said that initially it is believed that Asadul Islam’s body was tried to be burnt after he was killed. The body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem. He further said,Investigations are underway to find out the true cause of the incident and the process of identifying those involved and bringing them to justice is ongoing.
