Jhatika march of A.League and other organizations in Rajbari, 8 arrested
Police have arrested 8 active members of Awami League and its affiliates after filing a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act for holding jhtica procession in Rajbari. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Uttam Kumar Ghosh confirmed the matter on Sunday (June 14) afternoon. The arrested persons are – Md. Chhota Nurpur village of Rajbari Sadar Upazila. Rabbani (46), Mainuddin Sheikh (42) of Radhakantpur village, Md. of Bhavdia village. Nasir Uddin (42), Aladipur village. Riyad Mondal (26), Bhandaria village. A. Chalam Milan (57), sub-campaign secretary of district Awami League of Rajbari municipality’s ward number 6, Dakshin Bhabanipur village. Saiful Islam Sohag (42), Nahid Mia (24) of Rasulpur village of Khankhanapur union and Dhuldi of Jaipur village of Shaheed Wahabpur union. Nasir Sheikh (64). According to police sources, around 5:30 am on June 13, on the south side of Rajbari filling station of Gopinathadia village of Rajbari Sadar police station, approximately 30/35 people of Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League leaders and activists took out a jhatka procession with the aim of overthrowing the current government, anti-state conspiracy and creating panic in the public mind.
At this time they had banners and festoons in their hands.
Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Uttam Kumar Ghosh said,Rajbari police station arrested 8 active members of Awami League and its affiliates in various areas. The arrested accused have already been sent to court and the operation is on to arrest the rest.
