Allegation of beating and molesting women due to property in Burichong.

In Comilla’s Burichong Upazila, a woman was allegedly beaten, molested and robbed of gold ornaments and cash due to a dispute over ancestral property. In this incident, the victim woman filed a written complaint at the police station.

He made the complaint at a press conference on Monday (November 10) afternoon.

According to the source of the complaint, No. 7 of Mokam Union of Burichong UpazilaMosa Nazma Akhter (34), a resident of Nimsar (Maji Bari) village, filed a complaint against her uncle Nurul Islam (55) and her son Russell (25) along with some other unidentified persons.

Nazma Akhtar mentioned in the complaint that there was a dispute with the defendants over her ancestral property for a long time. Despite having 349 centuries of land owned by his grandfather, they were deprived of that property. On November 9 around 1 pm, when he reached in front of the council on his way to No. 7 Mokam Union Parishad, the defendants premeditatedly stopped his movement. At one point, they killed, punched, kicked and hurt different parts of the body. According to the complaint, the attackers molested her by pulling her clothes.

Accused Nurul Islam said, “I am ready to give the property to my niece at any cost.” But he did not listen to me and insulted me with people. Because of which I just gave a slap. I will accept the decision of the settlement meeting of the local people.”
