Awami League has ordered law and order enforcement to be on high alert to prevent the Dhaka ‘lockdown’ program on November 13.Ministry of Home Affairs. Instructions have been given to arrest anyone who steps on the street on that day.
These decisions were taken in a special meeting of the core committee on law and order in the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Sunday afternoon, November 9.
Home Ministry sources said, this meeting was originally supposed to be held next Tuesday. However, the meeting was called suddenly based on the announced program of Awami League. in the meetingInspector General of Police Baharul Alam, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Sajjat Ali and senior officers of various intelligence agencies were present.
According to sources, some middle-ranking leaders of Awami League, who are stationed abroad, are actively campaigning on social media about the ‘lockdown’ program of November 13. Due to their influence, some leaders and activists came to Dhaka from different areas including Barguna, Barisal, Gopalganj, Madaripur and Gazipur.The meeting discussed.
In the meeting, it was decided to set up checkposts at various important places in Dhaka and strengthen intelligence surveillance. Mentioning the names of two former Awami League leaders of Barisal region, the concerned officials ordered to be careful about their past activities.
According to a source, the earlier decision to withdraw part of the army personnel in the field to maintain law and order has been postponed. Army nowMembers will not be removed from the field.
In last Tuesday’s meeting, it was decided to withdraw 50 percent of the army. But today’s meeting changed that.
At the end of the meeting, Home Affairs Adviser Lt. General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury told reporters, “There is no fear about Dhaka lockdown on November 13. Awami League’s activities are now banned. The army will remain in the field as before.”

Metro Rail authorities are on high alert due to fear of political unrest. The leave of all officers and employees of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has been cancelled. This decision was announced in an office order signed by AKM Khairul Alam, Director (Administration) of DMTCL on Sunday.
The order said, “Until further orders, metro rail buildings, depot areas, stations and related facilities of DMTCLAll types of leave of the engaged officers and employees have been cancelled.”
Although the reason for canceling the leave was not officially mentioned, DMTCL sources said the precautionary measure was taken due to fears of political unrest this month.
Sources also said that on November 13, the verdict date has been set for three accused including the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the case of crimes against humanity.
